House of Refuge Private Events

There is no more special backdrop than the Atlantic Ocean and no more special venue than Gilbert’s Bar House of Refuge Museum!  Martin County’s oldest and most-loved building, the last of the original ten houses of refuge for shipwreck survivors was built in 1875 and has been on the National Register of Historic Places since 1974.  The grounds feature a large, outdoor patio perfect for weddings, receptions, and family reunions.  Restroom facilities are available for rent for beach events.
